An Autonomous Energy Generator from Admin's blog

I floated this idea and found it has potential!

Here's the ingredients:

GravBuoy(TM)

Cheap and durable!

Aluminum!

If you use a ballast system to raise the coils up, and gravity to drive them down, well...

Can be installed in water-filled towers, too!

Let me know if you find anyone who can run with this.

All you have to do is install a linear generator vertically, underwater. Weight makes magnets sink, generating current. Then, with a small amount of energy, the magnet container expands, causing it to float back up, making more electricity, 24/7. Or a small blast of air, to empty ballast tank, will also do the trick. No fuel, wind, or sunlight needed. Energy used to change density of container is 100X-1000X less than generator produces. At the top, the container contracts, or air in tank is swapped with water, to make it sink again.
